When I first obtained AVC for my VATSIM experience, I found it easy to set up, and it ran well on my PCLINUXOS system using the WINE emulator. Things went along very nicely until WINE was upgraded and AVC stopped working, knocking me unceremoniously off VATSIM. To say this is upsetting is a mild understatement. I cannot speak to or write about how it runs on windows as I've not used Win for 15 years. However, I believe the developers need to awaken to the FACT that windows is not the only platform upon which AVC is run and complete the necessary modifications to make it compatible with current Linux systems too. This would be a big boon for both them and us, as linux users would not longer be afraid of being left in the dark when something changes.
